Friends Never Fade

This card was made using one of the new stamp sets, Friends Never Fade.  It was one of the many swaps I received while at our Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City last week.   I think it's beautiful and very simple to re-create.  There wasn't a recipe with this card, but it looks like either Crystal Effects or Multipurpose Liquid Glue was used to attach the Chunky Essentials Glitter to the centers of the flowers.  Thanks for looking!

P.S.  Sorry for my absence the past couple of weeks...first, my camera broke and then I was out of town for a couple of weeks.  I'm still playing "catch-up", but at least I finally got a new camera.  I'm still working to perfect lighting and sharpness, but I already think it's an improvement over my old one :)

Apple Blossoms

Happy Friday!  Here's another card I made using the Apple Blossoms Hostess Set.  I love these new colors...Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight!   I'll be swapping this card front at the Stampin' Up! Convention in a couple of weeks.  Hope everyone likes it :) 

Sorry for the blurry picture...I've tried everything short of getting a new camera and nothing's working.  Then, while I was uploading this picture, I accidentally knocked my camera off the desk.  Now it's reading "error" and the lens won't retract when I turn it off.  It doesn't sound good either :(  Looks like I'll be shopping for a new camera.  On the up side...hopefully, I'll be able to take nice, sharp pictures from now on :)

Just A Little Note

 

I finally had a chance to start playing with a few of the products from the new catalog and wanted to share this 3"x3" mini notecard I created using images from a couple of the new Hostess Sets.  The wording is from Apple Blossoms (Level 2 Hostess Set) and the flowers are from Playful Pieces (Level 3 Hostess Set).  I used the Island Oasis Designer Series Paper for the background and the new Scallop Rectangle Clearlits Die...too cute!  It's the perfect size for this.

P.S.  My summer has been flying by!  With my kids almost completely on their own, I treasure every chance I have to spend time with them.  The sacrifice, of course, is my stamping time...but, they are worth it :)  I haven't been able to post  very much lately.  However, I'm headed to the Stampin' Up! Convention in a couple of weeks, so I'll have lots of new and exciting ideas to share when I get back!  Until then, I'll post as much as I can.  I  hope you'll keep checking in :)

 

 

Concord Crush Medallion

My card today was made using the Medallion Stamp with Concord Crush Ink and Card Stock.  I'm not sure this picture does the color justice, but it's a beautiful, rich purple.  It's one of the five new In Colors. 

I inked the stamp and stamped off once before lining up a Scallop Circle die cut over the image to get a lighter image for the outside edges.  Then I cut a 2 1/4" circle with my Circle Scissor Plus and placed it over the inked center of the stamp to create the darker center.  The button I used to embellish the center is just an extra I had in my sewing box. 

Creating is always sort of trial and error for me.  I'm thinking next time it would be quicker and easier to stamp the medallion image directly onto the square piece of Whisper White Card Stock instead of the Scallop Circle.
