Wicked Cool Treat Box

This treat box was a big hit at Stamp Club last week.  I created it using the Wicked Fun Specialty Paper with the Wicked Cool Stamp Set.  The finished size is 3"x3" and 1/2" deep.  It holds a York Peppermint Patty perfectly...my daughter's favorite!  Reese's Peanut Butter Cups fit well too. Thanks to Angie, my upline, for the box idea.  I think it's really cute!

How to Convert Your Wood Mount Stamps

I've been asked by many of you how to convert wood mount stamps to the new clear mount.  There are a few different ways to remount your stamps, but this is the best way I've found to do it so that you still able to have the image on the back of the stamp.  I hope this helps, please email me if you have questions.

Note:  This is the first stamp that I've converted and it seems to work well.  However, I do not know whether the life of the stamp will be compromised by altering it in this way.  So that you're fully informed, here's a statement from Stampin' Up!..."We do not recommend converting your wood-mount stamps to clear-mount stamps. The foam on the wood-mount stamp was not designed to be cling foam, and it is possible that you could damage your stamp if you try to alter it." 

An Aviary Hello

Corner Bookmark Video Tutorial

I'm too embarrassed to tell you how many takes it took to complete this video tutorial, but I will say I now have an ample supply of the Corner Bookmark Cards :)  It took me a couple of days and many previously failed attempts, but I have finally succeeded at filming and uploading a video!  Whoo Hoo!!! 

I learned a lot about myself in the process...mostly that  I talk too much!  So, I'll apologize now for the rambling.  Please just fast forward through those parts...I totally understand!  I'll definitely try to be quicker and a lot less "wordy" from now on :)  I'll also work on perfecting the lighting and editing, but for now, I hope this will be helpful.

Friends Never Fade

I couldn't wait to share this Corner Bookmark Card I made using the Friends Never Fade set.  My mom loves getting cards, especially handmade ones, so I wanted to create something really beautiful and unique for her birthday.  I love the way this turned out. 

First, I created the corner bookmark and then used it as the focal point on my card. The bookmark is made to slip right over the corner of a book page.  To attach it to the front of the card, I created a false page corner out of Whisper White card stock and popped it up with dimensionals to slide the bookmark over. 

Here's what it looks like on a book page.  

This was pretty simple to create, but the "Wow" factor was huge!  My mom loved it :)

Greenhouse Gala

As promised, here's another idea using Greenhouse Gala DSP.  I love these colors together...Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz and Chocolate Chip.  The masking technique was used here with the Friends Never Fade flowers.  I used markers to ink the Pear Pizzazz flower first, stamped it onto Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the same image onto a Post-it note, cut out the Post-it image and used it to mask the first flower.  I then stamped the  Baja Breeze flower next to and slightly overlapping the first flower.  The finished size is 4"x 4".

This idea came from one of my sidelines, Sally.  I thought it was so beautiful I couldn't wait to make it myself.  In fact, it was the first Stamp Club project we did after I returned from convention in July.  If you're interested in learning more about Stamp Club, click on the tab at the top of the screen.

This is another one of the swaps I received at convention using the Greenhouse Gala DSP and coordinating stamp set Friends Never Fade.  The Corner Rounder Punch was used to create an interesting block design.  The Vintage Wallpaper embossing on the Daffodil Delight square adds interest and helps tie it in with the other patterns...great idea!
