Just Believe

 
My card for today is one that I made at last summer's Stampin' Up! Convention.  Just Believe is one of several stamp sets we received from Stampin' Up! for attending.  The watercolor technique is used on this.  You ink the stamp with markers and then mist the inked stamp with a spray bottle of water before stamping onto watercolor paper.  It's a beautiful look! 

One of the many perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is the opportunity to attend the annual convention in Salt Lake City.  It's so much fun!  We get together with other demonstrators from across the U.S. and Canada to swap ideas, learn amazing new techniques, discover new ways to use Stampin' Up! products, come home with lots of new product and attend a Make 'n Take where we get to make beautiful cards like this one!

Fun Flowers Anniversary Card

This is the free card my Stamp Club members made last night.  Everyone loved the pretty, vintage look.  It's hard to see in the picture, but we sprayed it with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint mixed with Alcohol.  The result is a beautiful shimmer!  The flower was made with the Fun Flowers die and Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper.  They had a choice of wording from the Something to Celebrate stamp set, some of us made this a Mother's Day card.  The beautiful texture was created with the Elegant Lines embossing folder.  Then we sponged all the edges and raised pattern with Soft Suede ink.  For printed step by step instructions and complete supply list, Download Instructions Here.

Pretty Postage Birthday for Him

Today's masculine birthday card is a sneak peek at a couple of Summer Mini Catalog products that will be released May 1st.  I used the Pretty Postage stamp set and the Postage Stamp Punch for this.  It's always a challenge for me to create cards that aren't too feminine, but I think this works for a guy.  The striped paper is from the Nursery Suite Specialty Designer Series pack.  I inked the entire image with my Old Olive ink pad and then used my Early Espresso Stampin' Spot to ink just the "happy birthday" wording before stamping.  Now that I'm looking at this on the screen, I'm thinking I should have probably used Pear Pizzazz ink instead of Old Olive, but it still works :)  This was a fast and easy card to make!

Fresh Cut Notes

This is a Fresh-Cut Note Card that I embellished with some Paisley Petals Designer Paper.  I cut a 2 3/4" square of the soft green pattern and attached it to the inside of the note card with dimensionals to accentuate the flower cut-out.  The Paisley Petals papers are two-sided, so I punched a flower of the coordinating pattern  with the Boho Blossoms Punch and added a Pearl to the center.  The 4" square Fresh-Cut Notes come in a pack of 15 with envelopes and make creating a pretty note card fast and easy! 

The Paisley Petals DSP is available during the Spring is Blossoming Sneak Peek Promotion until April 30th.  After that, we'll have to wait until the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog is released on July 1st.

Clean and Simple Purses

Today's card is my favorite style...clean and simple!  Three of the products used to make this card are only available for one more week...the Create a Cupcake Stamp Set, Bring on the Cake Stamp Set, and the Build a Cupcake Punch.   Of all the great products in the Occasions Mini Catalog, I think the Create a Cupcake set and coordinating punch are two of the most versatile.  With these images, I've made cupcakes, clouds, baskets, and now purses.  I'm crossing my fingers that both of them make it into the new catalog :)  

To make this, I stamped the cupcake wrapper images with Melon Mambo ink and punched them with the Build a Cupcake Punch.  For the third purse, I punched the polka dot designer paper.  Then used the 3/4" Circle Punch to create the flap on the purse and added Rhinestones for the clasps.  For the handles, I punched a 1/2" Circle first and then punched around that circle with my 3/4" Circle Punch.  Then popped each purse onto the card front with dimensionals.  Clean and simple...love it!

Baroque Motifs Wedding Card

There are a lot of weddings coming up, so I thought I'd share this wedding card I made using the Baroque Motifs stamp set, Jewels Basic Pearls, and Paper Daisies.  This looks much prettier in person.  It's a gloomy day here, so my lighting isn't the best.  The colors, Sahara Sand, Shimmery White and Baja Breeze are so soft and beautiful in person.  The Shimmery White card stock really gives it a shimmery elegance. 

I sponged the edges of the small paper daisies with Baja Breeze ink for a little color, then added a pearl to the center of each one.  The pearls are very easy to use since they come with adhesive already on them.  The pearl border at the bottom comes just like that (connected in a row) so it only took me a second to add, but is a very elegant touch.  I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch and paper piercing along the bottom edge.  The finished size of this card is 4 1/2" square. Fun Flowers Birthday Card

I had to share this Birthday Card I made for my Great Aunt who is turning 99 years old next week...can you imagine!  She's very special and I wanted to create something really nice for her.

The flower was made with the Fun Flowers Die and Paisley Petals Designer Papers.  To give the petals a little curl and distressing, I ran my bone folder back and forth over them and then sort of shaped them a little with my fingers.  I used an Antique Brad for  the center of the flower. 

The label is from the Matchbox die, I cut one white and one designer paper, then just cut the ends off the designer paper label so I could layer them behind the edges of the white one.  I also inked the edges of the white label with Always Artichoke ink and a Sponge Dauber to make it stand out.  The Stamp-a-ma-jig worked great to position the wording onto the white label.  If you'd like more information about how this card was made, please ask :)

Spring is Blossoming with Paper Daisies

The Paisley Petals designer papers are all so pretty and coordinate beautifully!  So I decided to piece several different patterns together by punching 1 1/4" squares of each and adhering them to a piece of white card stock.  Then I die cut the patchwork with the Top Note die and ran that piece through the Big Shot again with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions embossing folder.  It has kind of a quilted look...pretty cool! 

I layered a couple of Paper Daisies together with a Build a Brad...love the marbled look it gives the Paisley Petals DSP, then attached the flower to the center of the die cut with a couple glue dots, added a little Baja Breeze seam binding and called it done. 

I'm trying to figure out how to add something about Mother's Day to this, but there's not much room.  Any ideas???  Please share :)

Spring Stamp-A-Stack

You're Invited to my Spring Stamp-A-Stack!  This is a fun and easy way to replenish your supply of handmade cards.  If you live in the Kansas City area, I'd love for you to join me!

We'll be stamping a baker's dozen...13 cards including envelopes for $20!  All supplies are provided, pre-cut and scored, so everything is ready to stamp and assemble.  There are three sessions to choose from, register for the time that works best for you.
