Big Top Birthday Card

A quick birthday card I made for my nephew who is turning 7 years old.  The wording is from the Perfectly Penned stamp set and I cut the balloon image from a sheet of the Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper.  The oval piece is a self-adhesive die cut from the coordinating Big Top Birthday Quick Accents. I love these!  They make creating really fast and easy!  I added a few more clouds by punching the icing from the Cupcake Builder Punch out of Whisper White card stock. 

Now for the best part!!!  I actually WON the stamp set, designer paper and quick accents!!!  And I NEVER win anything, so this was a huge thrill! :))  At Convention each year, they have a Prize Patrol!  When we check-in, we receive a wrist band with different colored patterns.  Then at random times during the 4 day event, Stampin' Up! draws a wrist band to win the Prize Patrol.  For the first time in five conventions, I actually won!!!  This is my winning wrist band.

Easy Events Wedding Cards

Whew!  Returning from vacation is always a little crazy and my days have been flying by, but I finally had a chance to get back in my stampin' room.  As promised, here is another take on my Easy Events wedding card.  It's a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2" card and the small one is the 3 x 3" gift card from last week.  On the larger card, I used the Sweet Swirls Stampin' Around Wheel with VersaMark to create a subtle background, and instead of the Scallop Trim Corner Punch, I used a scallop square that I die cut using the Scallop Squares Duo Die and the Big Shot . The video tutorial and written instructions for making both of these cards is available below.

I kept thinking the image needed some sparkle, so I tried adding some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to this, but decided it looked better without it...sometimes it's just trial and error :)

Easy Events Gift Card

Easy Events is one of the stamp sets we received for attending Convention.  It's filled with cute line art images for every occasion.  This is a perfect set for if you're just beginning to build your supply of stamps.  I used Pool Party ink and card stock to make this 3x3" wedding card .  I was in a hurry today, so I decided to go ahead and post my first version.  I still think it needs a little tweaking though...maybe some sparkle?  I'll have to play with it a little more next week.   I love the tiny little pearls and the Scallop Trim Corners.  I used my paper-piercing template and paper-piercing tool to create a guide for placing the pearls...worked great!  After I'm finished tweaking it next week, I'll post the final project with instructions.  Until then, have a great weekend :)

Raining Flowers (Make 'N Take #3)

This 3x3 gift card was made with the same two stamp sets from yesterday's card, Raining Flowers and It's Your Day.  Raining Flowers is a 2-step stampin' set, which makes adding contrasting color to line art images quick and easy.  It's Your Day is the coordinating set for the Great Day Simply Sent Kit (page 192 of the catalog).  The colors used on this, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, More Mustard and Cherry Cobbler, look really nice together.  For the lace border, Lucky Limeade card stock was punched with the the Lace Ribbon Border and then folded in half and scrunched a little for added dimension.

Raining Flowers

Another one of the Make 'n Take projects from last week...so cute!  We used the Raining Flowers and It's Your Day stamp sets along with the new Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon.  I love the new ruffled ribbon!  I'll be ordering this in each of the new In Colors...just can't resist :)  I liked the idea of layering the 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon over the Ruffled Ribbon too.

Best Friends Forever

This is one of the Make 'n Take projects I did at Convention last week.  Lots of new product shown here...the Best Friends Forever and It's Your Day stamp sets, Timeless Portrait Designer Fabric, Lucky Limeade ink and card stock and the Lace Ribbon Punch.  All of the supplies were provided to us by Stampin' Up! and we got to keep the new stamp sets!!

It's good for me to do projects that sort of push me out of my comfort zone :)  I've never used fabric on a card before, so I was amazed to find that I could adhere it with Snail Adhesive...very simple!  I also would have never thought to put these colors together, but I do like the end result!

Back from Convention!

I returned from the Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City last night.  It was so much fun!!  Each year, Stampin' Up! gives us tons of business ideas, product information, creative ideas, new techniques, inspiration, FREE PRODUCT and fun!!!  Here's just some of what I came home with...a beautiful embroidered backpack, an exclusive binder that holds our new catalog with dividers for each category, seven new stamp sets, a Simply Sent kit, Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper, and an 8-pack of the new Holiday Mini Catalogs that will be released in September!  It is an awesome mini...definitely one to look forward to!!!

This is a little box of gift cards I made for the "Anything, But a Card" swap.  I used the Delicate Doilies stamp set and the Matchbox Die.  The color is Wisteria Wonder, a new In Color.  I topped the flower off with a Rhinestone Brad (hard to see very clearly in the picture, but it adds a little sparkle).

Pennant Parade Baby Card

Today's project is a baby card I created to swap at Convention using the new Pennant Parade stamp set with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and one of the new In Colors, Pool Party.  The Curly Cute wording is perfect for this and the Dot, Dot, Dot stamp set helped make the pennants stand out.  I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Flower Punch and dotted the centers with pearls...so pretty!  I worked on these for the better part of three days and made a little over 80 of them!  I sure hope everyone likes them as much as I do :)

Simply Soft Thank You

This is a Thank You card I made for a card swap I joined at our Stampin' Up! Convention this week.  I used the Simply Soft hostess stamp set, Lucky Limeade & Daffodil Delight ink and card stock and 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.  The wording is from the Thank You Kindly stamp set.  Raising the flower layers with dimensionals added a lot more interest to this, and I think the Daffodil Delight bow is sweet :)
