Poppin' Pastels

This is a 3 x 3" note card made with the Button Buddies Stamp Set.  The Poppin' Pastels Technique was used to create the blended color on the flower.   It's stamped with VersaMark and then Stampin' Pastels were applied to the stamped image with sponge daubers.  For the subtle tone-on-tone (or watermark) background, I just stamped the image with VersaMark onto the Certainly Celery Card Stock...too pretty!  I'm working on a video demonstration of the Stampin' Pastels to share with you tomorrow, so check back!

Sending You Love

This is one of eight stamps included in the new Easy Events Stamp Set.  The circle and flower punches from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack were used on this...the small circle created the corners on the Wild Wasabi Card Stock layer.  It basically serves the same purpose as the retired ticket corner punch.  The little flower was punched from Textured Melon Mambo Card Stock and then I used the paper snips to cut it into a heart...pretty neat!  Dazzling Diamonds Glitter was applied to the edges of the leaves with the 2-Way Glue Pen, it's hard to see in the photo, but gives it a little sparkle.

Faith in Nature

There are so many options for adding color to stamped images that I sometimes forget about the ones I haven't used in a while...like the Stampin' Pastels (or chalks).  I can't even remember the last time I pulled them out, but the Pastels were perfect for coloring in this pear from the Faith in Nature stamp set.  I love the shading, it was really easy to achieve this subtle look.   The technique with the seam binding is something I've also been meaning to try.  It's done by applying SNAIL Adhesive to your card stock and then adhering the seam binding, leaving some slack so it sort of gathers or scrunches up...(I don't really know if that's a proper word, but I'm going with it ;-)  After applying the seam binding to the front of the card stock, I put a little SNAIL Adhesive on the edges of the back side to wrap the ends of the seam binding around.  Then I tied a small bow and attached it at the bottom with a Glue Dot.

Kidoodles Get Well

Here's another Kidoodles "Feel Better Soon" card.  I love this color combination, Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Melon Mambo.  I used the new Melon Mambo 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon as a border to add a pop of color.  The image was colored with blender pens and ink from my markers, then punched out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.  I sponged the edges with So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz ink.  I hope this brings a cheerful smile to my friend and upline, who is recovering from surgery :)

Two Tags Halloween Nugget Holder

This is the Halloween Nugget Holder we made at Stamp Club last night.  This cute little witch is from the Greeting Card Kids Stamp Set.  We stamped the image and wording onto Watercolor Paper with StazOn Ink and then colored it in with markers and the Aqua Painter.  The treat holder was made using the larger tag from the Two Tags Die.  I die cut two of the tags out of Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper and altered the score line so it would wrap around a little box that fits inside.  It holds 4 Hershey nuggets. 

Here's the inside...the mailing labels were stamped with the It's A Wrap Holidays Stamp Set coming September 1st in the Holiday Mini Catalog...can't wait!

So Many Candles Card

I love this birthday card...so colorful, so simple, so appropriate!  I made this for my dad's 71st birthday...lots of candles :)  The sentiment is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set.  I stamped it with StazOn Jet Black ink, because I like the true black color, then punched it using the the Extra-Large Oval Punch.  The candles are a variety of card stock colors cut to 2 1/2" x 1/2" and then embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I made the flames by punching just the wing from the Bird Builder Punch...how cool is that!!  Then I sponged the edges with More Mustard ink to add dimension.  The finished size is 4 1/2 x 4 1/2".  I saw this idea on Stampin' Connection, the Stampin' Up! forum for demonstrators to share ideas.  Thank you Marla Reed for sharing this great idea!

Bring on the Cake!

Check out this technique!  This is a birthday card I made for my nephew's 20th with the Bring on the Cake stamp set.  I've been meaning to try the Embedded Emboss technique and figured it would be a great background for a masculine birthday card.   I punched different colored circles with my 1 1/4" Circle Punch and adhered them to a piece of white card stock using the Anywhere Glue Stick.  Then I ran it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder...too cool!  What a great way to create your own embossed pattern!!  I highlighted the 20 by re-stamping the image in Cherry Cobbler and punching the numbers out with the 1/2" Circle Punch and the small circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  Then attached them over the stamped image with dimensionals.  I must have been feeling ambitious because I even finished the inside with another stamp from the same set...I hardly ever take the time to do that :)

Kidoodles Get Well Card

Here's another cute image from the Kidoodles Stamp Set.  Can you tell I really like Pool Party :)  I know I keep gravitating toward it, but it's just such a pretty color and I love the coordinating Ruffled Ribbon! The watercoloring on this little rhino is a great example of the blended color you can get with the Aqua Painter and Watercolor Paper.  I'm working on a video today to show you how I did the watercoloring.  If all goes well, I hope to have it for you later tonight.

Pretty in Pink Blossom Box

Today's project is the new Blossom Box.  It's perfect for shower favors, small gifts and goodies!  It has lots of folds to form it's round shape and cool petal closure on the top.  I decorated this one, so you can't see the top.  (Check out the video below to see it without the embellishments.)  I added a couple of flowers punched with the the Fancy Flower Punch, a Fluerette (crocheted flower) with a Pretty in Pink designer button, and some organza ribbon.  The white circle was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and then punched with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch.  I attached it all with dimensionals and glue dots.  Too cute!

It looks a little complicated, but it's not hard to assemble.  It just takes a little patience to make sure all the score lines have sharp creases.  The three "must-have" items for easy assembly are...designer paper, a crease pad, and a bone folder.  The designer paper allows you to get well-defined scorelines and is much easier to fold than card stock.  Using the crease pad, instead of a cutting pad, also helps with this; and the bone folder makes the nice, sharp creases.
