For the Birds

For the Birds is just another on my long list of new catalog favorites!  I stamped the image onto Watercolor Paper with StazOn ink and then used the Aqua Painter to add color...it's super easy to blend color on this paper!!  I did this in a hurry this morning, so I kept it simple...probably could have used a little more blending ;-)   I punched the image with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch and then popped it with dimensionals over the largest doily in the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits...another favorite!

Happy You Anniversary Card

My husband and I celebrated our 29th Anniversary this week and I used the Happy You stamp set with the colors Raspberry Ripple and Sahara Sand to make this anniversary card for him.  I love this simple layout...the 1 3/8" Square Punch is the perfect size window for all of the images in this stamp set. 

On the inside, I used the wording "with you...is my favorite place to be." from the For the Birds stamp set.  I think the striped Sahara Sand designer paper gives it a little more masculine feel. 

While he doesn't get as excited as I do about handmade cards, he did say it was really nice because it was so simple : )

Daisies Petite Purse

My sweet little Daisy Purse was die-cut with the Petite Purse Die.  To get a contrasting pattern for the flap, I laid a small piece of Floral District Designer Series Paper over just the flap section on the die.  I cut off the tab on the designer paper flap only (to make it easier to slip the card stock tab into the slit to close).  Then I added another designer paper strip at the bottom. 

For the decorative closure, I used the small flower from the Boho Blossoms Punch and layered a small Paper Daisy onto it with a glue dot.  The Rhinestone jewel was colored with a permanent marker and then added to the center of the flowers.  I attached the finished flower embellishment with a glue dot just above the tab after closing the purse. 

Normally, I use Sticky Strip on most of my boxes.  However, Sticky Strip is a little wider than the flaps on this, so I tried the Multipurpose Liquid Glue instead...it worked beautifully!  I used the Liquid Glue to assemble the box, attach the designer paper to the flap and lower edge, as well as the purse strap.  I like how easy it is to control the amount of glue you're applying and it dried really quickly too!

Happy You

Here's another sweet image from the Happy You hostess set.  I love the delicate details on this card...Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, the Scallop Rectangle Clearlits Die, the new Finishing Touches Edgelits Die and a little paper-piercing. 

I used a blender pen with a little River Rock and Baja Breeze ink to add soft color to the heart and butterflies and then added the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter with my 2-Way Glue Pen.

"Happy You" Christmas

This pretty Christmas wreath is from the Happy You hostess set.  I colored the holly leaves with a blender pen and some Old Olive ink first, then went back over a few of the leaves with the marker to add more dimension.  I'm thinking it may be time for a new camera...this picture is not doing the colors justice, they're much richer and brighter in real life : )   Don't you love the Real Red Doily behind the wreath?  It's so pretty and the perfect size to go with the images in this stamp set!  It was die-cut with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits Die...another favorite of mine!!  The sweet sentiment is from the new More Merry Messages stamp set.

Snow Swirled

Back to the drawing board for this one!  I liked the sample on page 18 of the catalog and wanted to try it with non-traditional Christmas colors...unfortunately, my vision didn't turn out so good :-/  Oh well, I do like the layout and the glittery Sticky Strip so I'll have to give this another try. 

Why am I working on Christmas in June?  I'm participating in a Christmas card swap at Convention this year, and I need to make 78 cards!!  My goal was to have them finished by July 1st and I'm just a little behind :-/  It's hard to think "Christmas" when the temperature outside is over 90, but I'll eventually get there!  I hope to have a better post for you tomorrow : )  Have a great Wednesday!

Bootiful Occasions

Today's masculine card was stamped with the Bootiful Occasions Stamp Set.  I'm a city girl through and through, so this card is WAY out of my comfort zone!  But, a good challenge isn't a bad thing every now and then : ) 

I stamped the image three times, once onto Crumb Cake card stock in Basic Black ink, then onto Whisper White card stock with Basic Black ink, and then again onto Cherry Cobbler card stock with VersaMark.  I cut the white boot out and then the Cherry Cobbler stars.  The stars are adhered to the boot with Liquid Glue, and the boot is attached to the Crumb Cake layer with Dimensionals.

Besty's Blossoms

I made today's card with the Betsy's Blossoms set and Floral District Designer Series Paper.  I'm really happy with the way this turned out! 

I used a tapping or "thumping" technique for the big blossom image.  I inked it with Lucky Limeade ink, then stamped the ink off once  before adding more ink directly onto the stamp by tapping or thumping the brush tip of my Lucky Limeade Marker.  Then I stamped the image onto the card front.  I think it adds some really cool dimension!
