This clean and simple thank you card was stamped with the beautiful Papillon Potpourri butterfly images. The coordinating Elegant Butterfly Punch was used to bring the large butterfly to life with added dimension. The wording is from the One in a Million stamp set and one of my favorites "above & beyond... that's where you always seem to go!"

My project today is a basket made with the large tag from the Two Tags Bigz Die and Daffodil Delight Polka Dot Parade Designer Paper. This would make such a cute Easter or May Day basket...or even favors for your Easter brunch or dinner table. I decorated it with the Mixed Bunch flower and coordinating Blossom Punch embellished with a Brights Designer Button.
Here's a softer version done in So Saffron Card Stock and Floral District Designer Paper. To give the flower some dimension, I cut into each of the petals and fluffed them a little.
This was the free 3-D project my Stamp Club made this month. There is still one space open if you're local (Johnson County Kansas) and would like to join us! Just contact me to find out more!

Here's a fun masking technique that I was reminded of while looking through a magazine the other day. I blended Tempting Turquoise and Lucky Limeade ink with sponge daubers to create this fading effect with the two colors. I think it looks
pretty cool : )
Here's how I did it...
I began by die-cutting an oval in the center of a piece of card stock (same size as my card front) to create the masking template. I placed the template on top of the card front and held it into place while I added the color with a sponge dauber. I began adding Tempting Turquoise ink with the sponge dauber in a circular motion to the top half of the oval cut-out. Then I used another sponge dauber to add Lucky Limeade ink to the bottom half and just blended the two colors together until I liked the way it looked. The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark ink in the center of the oval and then embossed with White Embossing Powder.
Happy Friday!

I paired the Towels for Two single stamp with the "kissing" technique to create today's wedding card...seemed appropriate ;-) Towels for Two is one of several Single Stamps available now. They come in clear-mount only, but they're nice images and very affordable! Towels for Two is just $5.95. (More on the "kissing" technique below.)

To make my card, I stamped the image once onto the card front. Then I inked the stamp again with Basic Black ink and "kissed" the inked stamp with the smallest image from the Madison Avenue stamp set (Sale-A-Bration) to create the pattern on the towels. I stamped the "kissed" image onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock and cut the towels out so they could be added with dimensionals. It turned out so cool! I love it!!
What is the "kissing" technique?
"Kissing" simply means to place one stamp onto another. Here's how it's done...take a larger (usually more solid image, like the towels) and then "kiss" it with another image to create a design or pattern. In this case, I inked the Towels for Two image first and then "kissed" it with the smaller Madison Avenue image (clean and un-inked). By doing this, you pick up some of the ink with the smaller stamp to create a cool pattern. You'll want to stamp off the ink you pick up each time to remove it before "kissing" again. Another "kissing" method would be to leave the larger (solid) image clean and add ink to it with the smaller image. After you've "kissed" the stamps, you then stamp onto your card stock. The result is an interesting design or pattern making your stamps even more versatile!

Today's Easter Card was inspired by the beautiful patterns in the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper. The soft, subtle colors are perfect for Spring. I cut 1/2" strips of the different patterns to create the striped pattern, then added the Delightful Dozen sentiment and a couple of easter eggs from the Spring Sampler. The Natural Trim Ribbon coordinated perfectly.
You'll find the designer paper, Natural Trim Ribbon and Spring Sampler stamp set in the Spring Catalog.

Spring is just around the corner, which calls for flowers...yay!! I love flowers and and the Summer Silhouettes stamp set has simple, pretty floral images. I especially like this simple image! The bright Old Olive and Rose Red colors against the Whisper White card stock give this the crisp and clean look that I'm really into right now.
The Bloomin' Marvelous sentiment is a Sale-A-Bration product (still available...through the 22nd). The idea for Paper-piercing around this image is from a card I saw on Pinterest somewhere, but never did find the original artist. Such an easy way to add a special touch to a simple card.
